Protect Your Driveway This Winter!
StripeCraft is pleased to announce new winter crack sealing solutions for our residential clients, for a smoother transition into 2025!
Crack filling and sealing in winter is a smart way to protect your driveway or parking lot from costly damage. As water seeps into cracks and freezes, the freeze-thaw cycle causes them to expand, leading to larger, more expensive issues. Sealing cracks now prevents further deterioration, saving you money and extending the life of your asphalt.
Winter is the perfect time for crack sealing because it helps prevent further damage during the harsh freeze-thaw cycles and ensures your asphalt is in great shape when spring arrives. With less traffic on driveways and parking lots during colder months, scheduling maintenance is easier and less disruptive. Acting now also means you can take advantage of seasonal discounts and avoid the springtime rush when contractors are busier. This proactive step saves you money and keeps your asphalt protected all year long.
CASESTUDY- Clifton, VA
Project "Roundabout", shown below is a good case study of our winter services. This project was finished in December of 2024, in Clifton and took a full day to do. We use it as an example to showcase our winter crack filling and sealing services. All necessary steps are shown below:
1. Site Preparation
The site is prepared by clearing derbis with a blower, torching any vegitation and brushing areas in need of cleaning. This step is key in making sure the crack fill bonds with the asphalt.
2. Problem Areas
Our technicians study the pavement and identify any areas of concern. Areas with deeper cracks may need to be cleared and individually filled. Any structural weaknesses are pointed out and solutions are proposed.
3. Application
Molten, rubberized crack fill is then used to fill in all the cracks, using a RynoWorx machine shown above.
4. Cure
The crack fill is then left to cure. The pavement is ready for use in just 30 minutes!
